Living without water
Hiwane
Hiwane is a small town, about 60km from Makele. There is a municipal water system in Hiwane, but it is insufficient and does not serve all the people living in the town or round about. So a lot of people still collect water at the stream running past the town.
The water in this stream is infected with giardia, so has caused stomach problems amongst the locals along with other health problems.
